There are a number of significant gaps in the 19 year work history shown on this CV. I have no reason to hide these, as they are part of the reason for going freelance. They were spent on various travelling ventures. Specifically:

Jan - Aug 1992, Overland from London to Hong Kong.

May - Oct 1990, Backpacking around SE Asia.

In the last 20 years I have travelled to 70 countries, every inhabited continent and experienced many different cultures. These varied experiences are certainly relevant to developing language, communications, tact and management skills.
